Reconciliation from upload report -> FX report -> Consolidation report

Below you find a written guide on how the different reports are linked together

To give you the best illustration of how the consolidation is performed we will start from the upload report, then go through the fx report, and then the consolidation report.

All reports available in Konsolidator can be found using the dropdown under the button “Reports”.

Upload report

The upload report is an overview of uploaded year-to-date (YTD) numbers for a specific month. The numbers are uploaded from the upload template or using API. In this example, the numbers uploaded for the entity Matterhorn is the YTD numbers for December 2020 and in CHF since this is the local currency for Matterhorn.

The upload report gives an overview of the link from local accounts (column C) to group accounts (column A) for bought profit/loss and balance sheet. If dimensions are used in the upload this is also presented in the upload report in column E. Column I is the uploaded numbers in local currency.

In this example, there are no Adjusting journal entries (AJE) or Reclassification journal entries (RJE) on the entity level. If there had been journals in this entity these would have been presented in separate columns.

FX specification report

The FX specification report shows the conversion from the upload in local currency to the currency for the parent company. As a calculation principle, Konsolidator uses weighted average meaning it is the movement within the month that is calculated using the exchange rate for the specific month. The FX specification report shows the conversion month by month and shows the year-to-date number.
If you want to know more about how the weighted average is calculated, please see the guide: Weighted average - INDSÆT LINK

As presented above in the upload report section we have for December 2020 uploaded CHF 450.823 for Matterhorn. This number is now converted to DKK using the weighted average. Therefore, the accumulated numbers for December 2020 are calculated to DKK 3.131.472. These numbers will therefore be the contribution from Matterhorn to the subgroup Skymountain.

Consolidation report

The consolidation report shows the consolidation for each group/subgroup in accordance with the group structure. For all groups/subgroup, the consolidation report also includes an fx conversion on the year-to-date number. The focus is again on the entity Matterhorn in CHF. The conversion in the consolidation report is the same reflected on the year-to-date number from the Fx specification report.

The contribution from the entity Matterhorn to the parent/subgroup Skymountain is DKK 3.131.472. The subgroup Skymountain consists of multiple entities in the group structure. Consolidator creates a subgroup consolidation of all owned entities.

Konsolidator is built as a bottom-up consolidation. This means that it consolidates from the lowest subgroup all the way up in the hierarchy.

To sum up, the individual reports presented above it is, therefore, possible in Konsolidator to:
  1. Follow the link from the local account to the group account (Upload report)
  2. Follow the conversion of the upload in local currency to the currency for the parent company (Fx specification report)
  3. Follow how each entity contributes to the group/subgroup in the currency for the parent company (Consolidation report)
