How Konnect data is organized
Konnect data is divided into three main types of tables:
Primary tables
Primary tables contain calculated data, such as consolidated financials, uploaded accounts, journal entries, KPIs, and exchange rates. These are the tables that are usually relevant for reporting purposes with periodic data. Use primary tables when you want to work with financial results or reporting data.
Primary tables are updated when periods are uploaded, calculated, or consolidated in Konsolidator.
Secondary tables
Secondary tables contain setup and reference data, such as account structures, dimensions, mappings, group structures, and ownership settings.
Use secondary tables when you want to understand how the financial data is structured.
Secondary tables are updated when you change your setup in Konsolidator. Changes in setup in Konsolidator related to the secondary tables such as Group Account Codes, Dimension Codes or other setup will only take effect for future calculations in Consolidated Accounts. Historical data for Consolidated Accounts are locked unless previous periods are reopened and reconsolidated. Regarding Upload Accounts and Journal Entries changes in setup (data related to secondary tables) will take effect immediately.
Mandatory and core reference tables
These tables are needed for the Konnect data model to work. They include basic reference information such as companies, sources, structures, months, and last refresh time.
Most users do not start with these tables, but they are useful when building integrations or validating data.
General availability and License tiers:
- Budget and forecast sources are only available for Management Accounting and Enterprise Accounting customers.
- All license tiers customers have access to actuals.
- Reporting currency is available in Konsolidator with Enterprise License tier
1. Primary tables
Primary tables are usually the tables you use when building reports, dashboards, or data extracts.
1.1 Consolidated Accounts (CA)
Use Consolidated Accounts when you need consolidated financial data at group level. This table contains the detailed data behind the consolidated reports and provides the building blocks for making your own reports.
This is the main table for financial reporting with AmountYTD and AmountPeriod as the two key columns. Each row in the table represents a single financial amount, and the columns describe what that amount relates to such as:
- company and group information
- period (year and month)
- account and dimension details
- counterparty and journal information
- consolidation timestamp
- group structure
- currency
1.1.1 Key reporting columns: AmountPeriod and AmountYTD
AmountPeriod and AmountYTD are the primary columns customers use when building reports.
- AmountPeriod
The amount for the specific period (month). - AmountYTD
The accumulated year‑to‑date amount up to and including the selected period.
Both amounts are returned in the currency that the data is consolidated in. The exact meaning of the amount depends on the company’s role in the group structure.
1.1.1.1 Currency and meaning by CompanyRole
Important to note: The interpretation of AmountPeriod and AmountYTD depends on CompanyRole:
- CompanyRole = group
- Amount is shown in the company’s own currency
- Represents the consolidated result of the entire subgroup under that company
- CompanyRole = parent
- Amount is shown in the company’s own currency
- Represents the company isolated, without contributions from subsidiaries
- CompanyRole = contribution
- Amount is shown in the given company’s parent company’s currency
- Represents how much the company contributes to its parent company’s (sub)group
This means that for the company roles group and contribution the amount is identical but for “group” the amount is shown it the company’s own currency and for “contribution” the amount is shown in the given company’s parent company’s currency.
This makes it possible to use the same table to analyse standalone company results, subgroup results, and contribution effects.
1.1.2 Reporting currencies in CA (Enterprise only)
Enterprise customers can also retrieve consolidated amounts in additional reporting currencies selected in Konsolidator. For each reporting currency, Konnect can include:
- reporting currency code
- period amount
- year-to-date amount
Customers with a Financial license or Management License will only see amounts in the base consolidation currency from the group structure setup.
1.2 Uploaded Accounts (UA)
Use Uploaded Accounts when you need the financial data uploaded for each company before consolidation. This table is useful when you want to review the source data behind the consolidated numbers or create reports in local currency for a single entity. It includes data such as. The key column is AmountYTD where each row represents a single financial amount that relates to:
- Company information
- Local and group account mappings
- Period
- Currency, journal, and upload metadata
- Dimension values
1.2.1 Amounts and currency in Uploaded Accounts
Amounts in Uploaded Accounts are shown in the currency they were uploaded in.
No consolidation or currency conversion is applied.
Important note about AmountPeriod
The table structure includes an AmountPeriod column, but this column is currently empty and should not be used for reporting. Use AmountYTD for Uploaded Accounts.
1.3 Journal Entries (JE)
Use Journal Entries when you need detailed journal-level data.
This table includes data such as:
- Journal headers and row‑level texts
- Journal numbers and posting status
- Account, dimension, and currency details
- System‑generated vs. manual flags
- Branch information (only available with Enterprise Accounting license)
As with Uploaded Accounts, only AmountYTD is available for reporting. The AmountPeriod column exists in the structure but is not populated.
1.4 Exchange Rates (ER)
Availability: Exchange rates are available for all license tiers.
Use Exchange Rates when you need the exchange rates used in consolidation.
This table includes data such as:
- Currency code
- Period (year and month)
- Default average and end rates
- Custom average and end rates (if defined in Konsolidator)
Note: Exchange rates are only available for the currencies used in your Konsolidator setup. This means not all currencies are available for all customers.
1.5 KPI Tables (CKPI and UKPI)
Availability: Management Accounting and Enterprise only
1.5.1 Consolidated KPIs (CKPI)
Use Consolidated KPIs when you need KPI values at group level. This table includes data such as:
- Company and group structure
- Account and dimension details
- YTD values
- Consolidation timestamp
1.5.2 Uploaded KPIs (UKPI)
Use Uploaded KPIs when you need KPI values uploaded at company level.
This table includes data such as:
- Branch information
- Upload timestamps
- YTD values
2. Secondary and Master Data Tables (set-up)
Secondary tables contain setup and reference information (chart of accounts setup, structures, dimensions, mappings, ownership setup, etc.).
How Secondary tables are updated
Secondary tables are updated when you change your setup in Konsolidator (for example accounts, mappings, dimensions, structures, or ownership settings).
They do not change historical results already stored in the Primary tables unless the customer actively recalculates and reconsolidates previous periods.
2.1 Group Accounts (GA)
Use Group Accounts when you need the group chart of accounts.
This table includes data such as:
- Account hierarchy and levels
- Account and elimination types
- Balance sheet classification

- Parent–child company relationships
- Group structures
- Currency for each company
- Structural flags (child, detached)

- Enterprise: Multiple dimension groups supported
- Financial Accounting & Management Accounting: One dimension group only
Use Dimensions and Dimension Groups when you need to work with dimension data.

- Currencies – currency codes and names
- Elimination Types (ET)
- Mappings (MA) – local‑to‑group account mappings

- Ownership – ownership percentages
- Periods – open and closed periods
- Uploads – upload metadata
- Consolidations – consolidation run metadata

- Companies – company master data and consolidation settings
- Sources – available sources
- Structures – group structures
- Months – valid months
- LastRefresh – timestamp of last data refresh
Summary
Konsolidator Konnect provides a structured data model covering:
- Consolidated and uploaded financial data
- Journal‑level details
- KPIs (where licensed)
- Setup, master, and reference data
Key takeaways:
- Primary tables reflect calculated results and are updated when periods are calculated/consolidated; data in historical periods in Consolidated Accounts change only when recalculated.
- Secondary tables reflect setup and configuration and update when the customer changes their setup; setup changes do not affect historical amounts unless prior periods are recalculated.
